Invites You TO:

A Dharma Series with Dharma Heir Gilbert Gutierrez 2026

Dharma teacher Gilbert Gutierrez is the sole American Dharma heir of the late great Chan Master Venerable Sheng-Yen, the founder of the Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association.

Gilbert has had over 39 years of meditation experience. Before he met Master Sheng-Yen, he had practiced various martial arts and Buddhist Qi Gong. In 2002, he received the Dharma Transmission from Master Sheng-Yen, making him one of five lay-person Dharma heirs. Gilbert’s teaching is known for offering Buddha Dharma, Buddhist origin and development, Gong’An (Chan stories), Silent Illumination meditation, Hua-Tou meditation, practical exercises, and lots of humor.

Today Gilbert teaches Chan Buddhism (Zen) at the Riverside Chan Meditation Group in Riverside, CA on a weekly basis. He also conducts retreats and lectures throughout South America, Europe and Taiwan.

We cordially invite you to join this online meditation retreat.
